Students need to have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0, unweighted, to graduate from high school in the State of Florida. Also, this is the minimum requirement for participation in sports and activities. As part of our code of excellence, we will enforce strict rules. Any student failing to achieve this minimum requirement at the end of any nine-week period will be placed on Academic Probation.
ACADEMIC PLACEMENT
One of our responsibilities includes the proper class placement of each student. We utilize an individualized approach for the proper placement of the students. We consider test scores, academic history, and state requirements.
GRADING GUIDELINES
Academic grades reflect a student’s academic achievement. The determination of the specific grade a student receives is based on the teacher’s professional judgment after careful consideration of all aspects of the student’s performance during a grading period. Each teacher is required to distribute a handout stating the grading criteria at the beginning of each course.
